I went in for brake pad replacements and ended up needing to also replace my rear rotors as well. The gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful in giving me advice and options without making me feel like they were looking to take advantage. The best part about the entire service is the complimentary check they do to check on your car and see if there are any other potential “issues”. They were able to locate some things I was previously told would cost an arm and a leg, but AAMCO informed me of what the issue was and even helped give me an idea of what it would take / cost to get that done. All of that to say, I will absolutely be returning to AAMCO for any further issues that may come about with my vehicles. The kindness, generosity, and support they gave me is rare, and the family owned atmosphere of the place makes it comfortable for those who may not feel welcome / comfortable in other shops.
My car was recently serviced by AAMCO Transmission in Conway Arkansas. My car was in dire need of a brake repair/replacement. The center manager, Jim Thompson and staff was able to get my car serviced in a timely fashion and at reasonable price. I truly appreciate their excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend Aamco to my family and friends.
I broke down in Conway Arkansas on my way home from Colorado. Jim immediately took an interest in my situation, he had me come right over to diagnose my transmission problem. I had first gone to a dealership where I was told they couldn’t look at till the following week. Then said it would be four to six weeks to get the parts, without anyone driving or looking at the problem. Jim had me come right over and after the technician road tested my truck, told me it could be fixed the next week. This was on a Friday. The store manager explained what would need to be done. They gave me two estimates depending on what parts they would need. They then suggested places for me to rent a car because I needed to drive back to Maryland. Jim called me Monday and Tuesday until he got a hold of me to explain what was needed for my repair. I called them on Wednesday to tell them I was flying into Little Rock. Jim then helped me arrange for a cab to take me to Conway. Then he gave me the number of local cab to pick me up from the hotel to take me to there shop. Each time I called them, they right away called me by name like we were old friends. I would highly recommend this shop for any repairs needs on my truck. This was the best service I have ever had. I would give seven or eight stars instead of only five. Ron G Havre de Grace, Maryland Thank all of you for helping out a stranded traveler.
1991 Chevy, C1500 Single Cab V6 and Manual Transmission Vehicle being repaired 1. California truck with 159k miles 2. Purchased from original owner 3. Vehicle was taken care of with interior updates. 4. History of receipts to prove work accomplish by original owner. 5. Rust free vehicle History of shop repair before taking to AAMCO: We moved from Vacaville, CA. The truck was purchased from the original owner and well kept. We all know, Arkansas has many country roads and requires more driving. Over the short time we live here, the vehicle showed its age and needed a clutch replacement. The transmission was never removed for any reason by prior owner. I dropped off the vehicle at the transmission shop in Heber Springs. The overall job was not professionally completed or customer service provided. The shop representative lied to me and refused to except their poor craftsmanship. This is the only truck I have and rely on this as we own land. Some of the poor results were, clutch fully engaged four inches from the floor (hardly any room to manipulate pedal), hard to shift in gear and a bearing made the most annoying noise while in neutral and beginning of gear selection. After the vehicle was picked up from the shop in Heber Springs, I quickly investigated their work in my shop. I found one issue, the slave cylinder strap was still intact. The strap is used for installation and bleeding purposes and breaks after full use. The prior shop told me they double checked all work, clearly a lie! Also had three technicians perform a test drive and all three stated “this is normal operation”. Still wrapping my mind around that crazy answer! Later took to AAMCO, next section. Repair at AAMCO: 822 North Creek Drive, Conway, AR 72032 Now that you know the history of the vehicle. I called the AAMCO shop in Conway and spoke to Jim Thompson. He was immediately respectful and energetic. I explained the situation and he quickly set up an appointment. When I dropped off vehicle, he did proper paperwork and annotated the history of vehicle repair in invoice, then gave me quote for repair. Also informed him if they could double check prior shops repair. Two days later, Jim calls and informs me that the pilot bearing is causing the squealing noise and requires replacement. He sent me digital documentation that required my signature to proceed with repairs. Two days later the vehicle was repaired correctly and ready for pick up. The technician took the time to explain the bad pilot bearing symptoms and test drive results. All repairs were completed correctly, what a relief! I would like to thank James (technician) and Jim (Sales Manager) for providing great customer service and excellent repair. I know this is a long review but warranted! I do value traditional customer service. I highly recommend this AAMCO shop in Conway and inform my fellow military folks of them.
As a female I find it really difficult to go and get my car worked on because most places take advantage and lie and it’s always scary walking in alone. I felt respected, listened to and taken care of here. They were so knowledgeable and helpful and I feel more confident in myself and my car walking out! I will be back!
